It's Release Day Peeps!

Hello all and welcome to the final day of the Abundance Collection Sneak Peeks. In fact, we can't even call them sneaks really because ALL of the sets that you've been seeing snippets of this week are LIVE in the Power Poppy Shop -- right now! Click HERE to see all of the sets and get a glimpse of them in their full glory!

Today, the Bloomies have one last new set to share before we close the books on all of this release fun! It's a fun set that takes the vintage cloche -- basically, a glass covering used to protect plants, goodies or decor -- and makes it a super fun accent for cards of all kinds!

On to my creation!

While there are a handful of different vignettes in this set -- Under the Glass -- I loved the one with a beachy theme! Living in "land locked" Montana, the ocean calls me. I love the sand between my toes and the sound of the ocean waves. That's why I just had to take some serene colors of Copic markers and bring this image to life!

I started by stamping with Tuxedo Black Memento ink and then reached for light oranges, peaches and a ton of markers from the "E" family -- E31, E33, E04, E51, E53, etc. to color up the pitcher, the sand and even that darling little clam shell!

When I was done, I did add some Stickles Rock Candy, to give the sand a little shimmer. It's a glitter glue that adds dimension without going overboard on the razzle dazzle that other glitter glues offer.

Here's a little close-up! Sadly, the glitter portion doesn't really show in photos -- just a nice add in real life!

And that, my friends, is it! Before I go, I did want to tell you about......

Dahlia XL: Power Poppy Sneaky Peeks Day 4!

Hello folks and welcome to day 4 of the Power Poppy Abundance Collection sneaky peeks! I sincerely hope you gasped when you saw this beautiful and bold blossom above! What a sight for the eyes, huh? Just think of all the color combos you can entertain with Dahlia XL! This is Power Poppy's second addition to its XL collection of supersize flower stamps — a Dahlia modeled on the exquisite and popular cultivar 'Cafe Au Lait'. Be. Still. My. Heart!

On to my creation!

I have to start by saying that this photo below was my inspiration! When I "Googled" Dahlias in search of just the right color scheme, I stumbled upon this breathtaking photo!

I love the mix of golden yellow, the hint of orange, the pale pink and vibrant shades of violet intermixed in what can only be described as 'nature's glory!' I knew there was no way that I could even copy the hand of Mother Nature, but I was going to have a whole lot of fun trying!

And so, my sweet stamping friends, here is my attempt!

I stamped this big and bodacious Dahlia using Memento Tuxedo Black ink (a really juicy ink pad!) and then started reaching for my Copic Markers. I chose RV00, RV02, RV06, RV55 and RV17 for the pink petals and then I added in a little V01, Y35, and Y13 for the yellow and purple tipped portions. I have to say that I took my sweet time coloring this. There was no rushing, only experimenting!

Here's a close up of how it all turned out!

From there, it was simply matting it up. I used my paper trimmer to trim up to the edge of the petals and then fussy cut around that outer edge, doing the same thing on both sides. I layered up some paper, added a stenciled background thanks to a Tim Holtz stencil, a sponge dauber and some Distress Ink in Spun Sugar. Add some sequins and a white embossed sentiment on black card stock and.. ta da! C'est fini!

There are so many different ways you can use this larger than life flower and I just know, as you make the rounds to the rest of the Bloom Brigade, you will see those different ideas coming to life in their creations! So, stop by and see what these fine ladies below have in store!

Tree of Life: Power Poppy Sneaks Day 3!

Hello all! Goodness, I hope you are enjoying the sneaky peeks this week from Power Poppy, because I sure have loved making the hop myself to see all the ways you can use this fresh crop of clear stamps! Today's set is just as charming as the other stamp sets from the Abundance Collection that the Bloomies are showing off.

Take a gander at Tree of Life! As Marcella penned this set, she shared how she has been forever enchanted by the different depictions of the Tree of Life -- from branches reaching for the stars to those trees that are small, curvy and stylized. This, my friends, is her take. With this stamp set you'll find a tree that is chocked full of leaves, fruit and feathered and furry friends plus beautifully scripted sentiments to compliment these illustrated beauties! So incredibly charming!

On to my creation!

I have to say that I did indeed stare at this image for quite a while after stamping it in black ink. I wondered - what color should the birds be? What about the flowers? Should I have a vibrant or deep green for the leaves? After all the staring, I just started reaching for my Copic markers and I went to town -- leaning more toward vibrant colors. I loved adding more purple to the pomegranates and making the birds a deep and dusty teal. Here's a sampling of the colors that I used: YG00, YG13, YG17 for the leaves; BG70, BG72, and BG000 for the birds; R81, R83, and RV00 for the flowers; R24, R39, and R21 for the berries; E31, E33 and E27 for the tree limbs; R39, V01 and V000 for the pomegranates. I also added a little Y00 around my image to highlight it. You can't really see it in the photo but in real life, it is a subtle glow! :-)

Here's a little close up for you! You can see that I did add a few white gel pen accents here and there!

And here's another close up showing off that little bird accent I added to my oval sentiment!

And that, my friends, is it! If you can't tell, I am pretty enamored with this set! It truly is perfect for all kinds of cards and occasions and a pure delight for just those times when you need to pop a little "thinking of you" creation in the mail!

Want to see what the other Bloomies did with the Tree of Life? Stop by and say "hi" to these gals and see what they whipped up... just for you!

Be sure to swing by tomorrow when we hit day 4 of our 5-day release! This stamp set is big, bodacious and offers up so many different color combinations that I am sure you'll find it swoon-worthy! ;-)

Until then!

Pure Prairie Spirit: Power Poppy Sneaks Day 2!

Hello peeps and welcome to DAY 2 of all the fun surrounding Power Poppy's brand new clear stamp release of The Abundance Collection! Today's stamp set might look a wee bit familiar. That's because this gorgeous image was first released in digi form in August of last year as Pure Prairie Bouquet. Well, I mean to tell you, Marcella got so many comments begging her to bring this set out in clear form, she listened! This new set -- Pure Prairie Spirit --  comes with that big bodacious bouquet along with a duo of fluttering butterflies that can be placed anywhere you like! Plus, there are some super senties that have such a fun and, dare I say, trendy vibe!

On to my creation!

When I first set sights on those fun little butterflies, I just knew that I needed to try to make them the centerpiece of my card. So, I stamped the little guy on a post-it note and then went about stamping, masking, masking and stamping until I had a line of butterflies along the left side of my panel. I stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and then, grabbed some Copic markers to bring those little wings to life! I used C03, C05 to darken up the wings and then Y35, YR04, YR07 and R14 on the wings. I highlighted with B0000 and then added a little shading underneath the butterflies with BV0000 and BV00. You can also see I added some dots around my image. I have this super old peg stamp with those dots and every now and then, I reach for it just to add a little pizazz!

Here's a close up for you!

Now, if this layout looks a little familiar to you. There's a reason for that! I am playing along in Ally Cope's Power & Spark Challenge!

For this month's challenge, you need to CASE -- Copy & Steal Everything -- from one of the Bloom Brigade Designers! I happened to love THIS creation - Orchid Hues - from the sweet and talented Christine Okken! I do have a few differences -- I didn't add the band of decorative paper around the middle. And, I did leave off the stitching as well. But, I think if you compare design notes, you'll see the basic layout is there! ;-) If you haven't played along in this month's challenge, click HERE to read all about it and then, like I always say, get those fingers inky! If you play along, you could win a $50 shopping spree to the Power Poppy Shop! What's better than that?

And that, my friends, is it from me! Time now to pay these lovely ladies below a visit to see how they put Pure Prairie Spirit to use in their own crafting spaces!

Julie Koerber >> you are here!

Thanks for stopping by! Be sure to swing by tomorrow to see Day 3 of the Abundance Collection! Tomorrow's set is truly one of a kind and full of Marcella's charm -- sharing a vibrant and beautiful life! You'll have to come back and see what I'm talking about! :-)

Until then!

Let the Abundance Begin! Sneaks Day 1!

Hello all and welcome to the start of something WONDERFUL! If you're anything like me, you've been waiting quite a while for some fresh Power Poppy polymer! I mean, can we ever, truly have enough? The answer... NO! That's why today is extra special because it begins the sneaky peeks by all of the Bloom Brigade -- showcasing the brand new Abundance Collection, featuring five brand spankin' new sets! Oh my goodness -- can you even stand it?

Today's set offers a trio of summer flowers and stylish sentiments, which makes this thank you set a MUST HAVE! Say hello to... Vibrant Thanks!  From Zinnia and Bee Balm to that cute little Coreopsis, you'll be reaching for this set for a multitude of occasions!

On to my creation!

I have to tell you, when Marcy first penned this little flower above (Coreopsis), she said, "Is this too simple?" I responded with an overwhelming... No! I loved the sweet flair of it and just knew for quick and cute creations, it would be just the perfect touch!

That's why for my card today, I wanted to show how this little duo of blossoms doesn't need a lot in the way of fuss when it comes to card making! It is just so adorable all on its own! I stamped in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink and then, colored up using my Copic Markers -- RV04, RV55, RV02, RV00, YG03, YG17 and YG00. Then, I highlighted with G0000. Just that simple! I added a little bit of Y35 to the center of the flowers and then, of course, brought a little bling with some glitter glue!

From there, it is as simple as matting it all up adding a little silver cording and a couple of iridescent rhinestones!

And that, my friends, is it! I didn't do anything to the inside of this card. I just left it blank for the when the occasion arises that I need to send this sweet little note on its way! Make sure you stop by and visit the rest of the Bloomies to see where their imaginations took them with this set!
